Sonography is been a very familiar word for us especially for the doctors, physician, health experts and other Hospitals. We should know that what sonography is and how does it work? It is a medical diagnostic procedure where high frequency sound waves are applied to create the dynamic visual image of organs, internal blood route and tissues. This type of method is often called as sonogram or ultrasound scan. Any internal body parts such as the abdomen, female reproductive systems, breasts, prostate, hearts, and blood vessels etc can be examined by it. It is one of helpful tool for detecting biopsy also. The basic of work way of X-ray and sonography may seem same but there is a difference and that is sonography is a radiation image procedure but X-Ray is not.
The non-medical skilled people who perform this procedure are known as Sonography technician.
Now the question comes in our mind that what is the actual work of the sonography technician. A sonography technician is a highly skilled and qualified person who generates the image of the internal parts of our body by using special equipments and machines so that any physician can detect the disease and can treat it well. A small type of equipment is used here and it is called Transducer. It is placed against the skin near the body area that to be imaged. The basic principal is just like a loudspeaker and microphone because it can transmit sound and receive sounds. It applies a high frequency of sound into our body and it is rebacked by the organ and that sound wave is monitored by computer and the system can illustrate an image itself that you can see on the monitor and you can also store it in a video tape.
A sonography technician directly communicate with the patients and here are the responsibilities of a sonography technician. A sonographer should have the vivid history of the patient. He has to perform the diagnosis procedures and obtain diagnostic images and he should have analyzing ability about technical information.
Sonography is been a well known profession from a long time. With advancement of newer technologies and booming use of diagnostic ultra sound procedures, the growth of sonography profession is highly increased and there is a huge opportunities for a qualified sonography technician in both urban and rural areas nationwide. There are many places where a sonographer can get the job opportunity such as clinics, hospitals, private practice physician offices, public health facilities, laboratories, and other medical settings performing examinations in their areas of specialization.
A sonography training is the most important factor for becoming a sonography technician. There are many sonography training courses and you just need to be a high school graduate in order to be a sonography technician.
If you want to be a well known sonography technician then a proper sonography training is very important.
