Meeting Your Unborn Baby Way before Birth through Ultrasound

Ultrasound imaging has been around for a long time now. Note that even though this technique comes accompanied by a number of advantages, the image you will be presented with when you decide to take an ultrasound scan at 20 weeks into pregnancy can be quite hard to decode. Unless you are an experienced professional, deciphering one end of your unborn baby from the other could be the hardest nut to crack.

However, thanks to advancement in technology, more specifically Computer and ultrasound technologies, today it is very possible to get not only a 3D Image but also a 4D DVD as well to take home with you. This is a very notable and much welcomed step forward particularly to the parents who cannot wait to see how their unborn bundles of joy look like. This is seen as a great opportunity for the anxious parents to start bonding with their unborn baby way before they get to meet them physically as the ultrasound can show even the expression of the baby’s face in the images.

At around twenty weeks into pregnancy, an ultrasound can even determine the sex of your unborn baby – one thing that has always been of great interest to most parents who cannot wait to discover the gender of their baby either for practicality reasons such as buying clothes or simply because some parents-to-be are basically impatient. Other parents however prefer not to spoil the surprise and wait for the 9 months to accept whatever God has in-store for them. Therefore, it is very important that you be totally clear before going for your next ultrasound appointment whether you want the information shared with you or not.

Even though an ultrasound is never guaranteed to be a complete 100% accurate as it is machine operated, statistics indicate that after twenty weeks into pregnancy, the accuracy is of about 20 per cent, really good odds indeed. Most expectant parents are always more than eager and proud to show off their baby in an ultrasound image over the internet, no wonder there are many galleries available today that have images of fetus with different expressions, others sucking their thumbs, sleeping peacefully or putting out their tongues and kicking their legs. If you aren’t sure of the exceptional quality of a 3D fetus in an ultrasound image, be ready to be dazzled and amazed. Most expectant mothers say it is even hard to believe that these images show pictures of yet-to-be born babies as they are very clear and very ‘real-time’.

If you plan to have an ultrasound scan for your unborn baby, most probably you will be forced to pay for it out of your own pocket, but many believe that it is a well worth expense as you will always have a lifelong reminder of what your unborn baby looked like while in the womb either in an image or even DVD form, or both if you like.
